ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Despite the scary images, there were no injuries in a crash involving a camper dangling over an overpass.
It's believed the driver somehow lost control on part of the camper, which caused it to crash over the barrier wall on northbound Interstate 275 at I-175, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened just before 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15.
Northbound I-275 traffic had been diverted at I-175, with traffic moving on the right shoulder. The road below the overpass, 5th Avenue South, was closed as crews worked to remove the vehicle.
A wrecker arrived around noon to lift the camper off the overpass and away from the scene.
