GATLINBURG, TN – You could call it a miracle after a Jesus Statue was the only thing left standing following the wildfires that devastated a house in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
The picture was taken by reporter, Kelsey Leyrer at our CBS affiliate WVLT as they captured the devastation in Sevier County.

The statue of Jesus is covered in soot and ashes but still standing among the debris of the home.
Earlier this week Isaac McCord, an employee at the Dollywood theme park, found a partially burned page from the Bible’s book of Joel.
The part of the passage that’s readable, from Joel’s first chapter reads, “O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.”
