GREENSBORO, NC -- Summer is making a rare appearance in late-October. Our heat will continue to bake the Piedmont for at least one more day.

Our first record high temperature in a long time happened on Wednesday afternoon. We hit 88 degrees, smashing the old record of 86 degrees back in 1938. It's our first record high temperature since March.

Warm air moving in from the south will keep our temperatures a good 10-15 degrees above normal through Thursday. Thursday will be 84 degrees, which again could threaten our record high of 86 degrees set back in 1924. Our average high is just 70.

A strong cold front will move in on Friday, bringing an end to our stretch of very warm weather. Things will turn chilly for the weekend with highs only in the low 60s for Saturday.
