Reidsville, N.C.-- It's not something you see on a wanted poster everyday, and it's not everyday someone is looking for a missing bird.

Rockingham County Animal Control is asking people in the area to be on the lookout for an African Gray Bird named "Birdie." They believe the bird escaped her habitat at 109 Doc Rd. in Reidsville, N.C. "Birdie" is female, 14 years old and looks very similar to the (stock) photo below.

Their description, not ours... "Birdie" is not reported to be dangerous and is said to be shy around people she does not know. Her wings were not clipped, so she can fly. "Birdie" has a band on her leg with identification numbers as well. She is Gray with Scarlet colored tail feathers.

If anyone spots "Birdie", please contact Rockingham County Animal Control at 336-634-3232.
