VIRGINIA -- A cat in the middle of the road and a driver are lucky to be alive after she swerved to miss it and crashed.
Although the driver and cat survived the incident, the car did not---it caught fire from impact of the crash. The driver was also ticketed.
The Galax Gazette reports Amanda Cox , 33, was trying to dodge the cat when her she lost control, overcorrected and hit the bank on the left side of the road on Nuckolls Curve in Virginia.
Cox, who was wearing her seat belt, crawled out of the vehicle before it caught on fire.
She was charged with Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Control of her vehicle.
