Hindsight is 20/20: Looking back on 2020 with perfect vision - My 2 Cents

Looking back on the year to see what we can learn can bring new appreciation for a time that, let's face it, wasn't all great.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It’s time for ‘My 2 Cents.’

We’ve all heard the saying, ‘hindsight is 20/20,’ meaning it’s easier to analyze situations when you’re looking back on them rather than when you’re in the moment. Reflecting can be done with perfect, 20/20 vision.

So when we look back on the year 2020, what can we see, better yet, what can we learn?

We certainly learned that life isn’t always what you expect it to be. I don’t think any of us knew that 2020 would be a dumpster fire when we rang in the New Year. All jokes aside, we learned to expect the unexpected and be prepared for anything.

Looking back, I think we learned what truly matters. When life boils down to the basics, when your family’s health is on the line, when your job is suddenly at risk to no fault of your own, or even when you lose something or someone you love – it forces you to prioritize.

Finally, 2020 taught us that we’re resilient. We’re tough. Look back on all you made it through and all that you accomplished when the odds were stacked against you.

Hindsight is 20/20 and looking back on 2020 can give us perfect vision.

That's, 'My 2 Cents.'
