GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After winning the MEAC regular season and conference tournament titles, the A&T women's basketball team will take on the defending national champions in the first round of this year's NCAA Women's Tournament.
The Aggies earned the 15th seed in the Albany Region and will play No. 2 seed South Carolina in the opening round.
The game is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC. The winner will advance to play the winner between California and Virginia in the second round on Sunday.
Last Saturday, the Aggies defeated Hampton 72-65 in overtime to win the MEAC Women's Tournament title.
A&T heads into the tournament on an 11-game winning streak and with 19 wins in their last 20 games.
