Swarm Acquire Rights To Guard Coron Williams

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that they have agreed to a trade with the Maine Red Claws to obtain the returning player rights of guard Coron Williams.
The Greensboro Swarm hosted the team's first open house practice so fans could get a look at the new team and the new field house. 

GREENSBORO – The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that they have agreed to a trade with the Maine Red Claws to obtain the returning player rights of guard Coron Williams. In exchange, the Red Claws receive the returning player rights of forward Devin Williams.

Coron Williams (6-1, 175, Wake Forest) has spent the last two years with the Red Claws, appearing in 54 games for Maine during the 2016-17 season and averaging 7.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Prior to his time in the NBA G League, he played overseas in Italy for the De’ Longhi Treviso. After playing four seasons with the Robert Morris University Colonials, Williams spent his final year of college eligibility in the ACC at Wake Forest University. During his 33 games as a starter, he averaged 10.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for the Demon Deacons.

Devin Williams (6-9, 255, West Virginia) appeared in eight games for the Swarm after being acquired by the team off waivers on February 14 last season. The forward averaged 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 points per game off the bench for Greensboro. Prior to joining the Swarm, he played for the Melbourne United of the National Basketball League, the professional league of Australia and New Zealand.

The Greensboro Swarm will tip off the 2017-18 campaign at home on Saturday, November 4 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse against the Canton Charge.
