Crash on E. Wendover Ave. in Greensboro causes power outages

East Wendover Ave will be closed between Gatewood Avenue and Waugh Street. Drivers are being diverted to Gatewood Avenue.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — UPDATE: East Wendover Ave will be closed between Gatewood Avenue and Waugh Street. Traffic will be diverted to alternate routes after a crash causes an area power outage.

A rollover crash shut down a portion of East Wendover Avenue Wednesday, according to police. There are about 3,000 power outages in the eastern part of Greensboro because of the crash, according to the Duke Energy map

All eastbound lanes on East Wendover Avenue at North English Street are temporarily closed. Drivers are being diverted to Gatewood Avenue.

The roads will be closed until further notice.

Drivers are asked to use caution or avoid the area if possible.
