Rain and Melting Snow Continue This Weekend, Flooding Possible

Flooding is Possible With Rain and Melting Snow

GREENSBORO, NC -- We're trading the snow for rain this weekend. Occasional rain will continue, even moderate to heavy at times, causing our snow to melt. The combination of melting snow and rain could lead to flooding in some areas.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday afternoon. We've already seen a good amount of rain, with more moderate to heavy showers possible at times on Saturday. It won't rain all the time, but occasional rain is a good bet for Saturday, especially from morning to afternoon. Fog will be thick at times, courtesy of our linger snow still on the ground. Temperatures will hang in the 40s.

Rain will taper off late Saturday, allowing for a mainly dry Sunday. Still, some clouds are likely and a spotty shower can't be ruled out. It will get a bit warmer, with highs in the mid 50s.

We're already in second-place for wettest year on record. It's likely that we'll inch a bit closer with additional rain totals around 1" this weekend.

High pressure will build in, bringing nice sunshine for next week. Highs around 50 each day Monday through Wednesday.
