GREENSBORO, N.C. ---- Make sure you know where your jackets are, because you'll need them at times this week.

After a stretch of days with temperatures mainly above average for this time of the year, we'll have temperatures well below average as we head into the work week. Temperatures will drop 20 to 30 degrees behind a strong cold front late Sunday night into Monday morning. This front has already brought cooler temperatures to a large chunk of the country.

The front will produce a few showers, but widespread rain isn't expected. the best chance of rain will be between late Sunday night and noon Monday.

The sky will clear out slowly through the day on Monday, leading to a clear and chilly night. Through Wednesday, highs in the afternoons will reach the 60s and lows will fall into the low to mid 40s. Upper 30s can't be ruled out for lows early Wednesday morning in some locations. We'll warm up again as we head into next weekend.
