Blake Shelton Tells Ellen His Thoughts About Being 'People's Sexiest Man Alive'

Twitter woke up to the news that Blake Shelton was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" and voiced their confusion.

People magazine may have chosen Blake Shelton as their 2017 Sexiest Man Alive — but that doesn't mean Twitter agrees.

Days after being named the Sexiest Man Alive, Blake Shelton appeared on Ellen. Here's what he said about it:

Users of the social media site tweeted their confusion over the 41-year-old country singer being crowned with the title, previously held by Dwayne Johnson (2016), David Beckham (2015) and Chris Hemsworth (2014).

Some joked that the decision meant we were living in a parallel universe.

"Trump is President. Blake Shelton is the Sexiest Man Alive. Snookie better start planning her Nobel Prize speech," one user tweeted.

"We elected Donald Trump as President. And Blake Shelton as the 'Sexiest Man Alive.' I trust no one anymore," another person tweeted.

The Mindy Project's Fortune Feimster looked at the bright side of Shelton being crowned.

"Blake Shelton gives me hope that I too could one day be People Magazine's sexiest man alive," she wrote.

Some joked out why they think Shelton is just not that sexy.

"Blake Shelton is sexy if you like a guy who's always about to lean in and tell you about hearty, healthy, American dog food," one user wrote.

"I heard my dude Blake Shelton won People Magazine's 'Sexiest man Alive.' Way to hold It down for all the 7s out there," basketball player Evan Turner tweeted. "We appreciate you."

Some were just dramatically disappointed.

"I don't want to live in a world where Blake Shelton is the Sexiest Man Alive," someone tweeted.

"How can you trust straight people when they chose Blake Shelton as the sexiest among them," another asked.

Others prosed options they thought better fit the title.

"Maybe I'm missing something, but how can Blake Shelton be the 'Sexiest Man Alive' when Idris Elba is still living?" one user asked.
