Four NC Special Needs Students Graduate At Emotional Ceremony

GREENSBORO, NC - Laughter and tears filled the gym at Haynes-Inman Education center on Tuesday night.

Four special needs students graduated and got recognition for volunteering for 100+ hours in the community.

Kathy Gamba, the school’s physical therapist, spoke to the crowd about each student and how much they will be missed at the school.

“You have been challenged to be part of a school of character and live up to and demonstrate the ideals of strength, perseverance, patience, hope, compassion, respect, dignity and happiness,” said Gamba. “We’ve seen you accomplish this through your service learning. This is proof that you are an important part of not only your school community, but the larger community, as well.”

Haynes-Inman serves students, pre-school to age 22, with severe to profound cognitive and/or physical disabilities.
