WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and elves took a break from their busy toy-building schedule to visit patients at Brenner Children’s Hospital.
Santa visited Brenner in his vintage 1800s sleigh to ask children their Christmas wishes, have their picture taken and decorate their own cookies and Christmas ornaments.
Dana Pierce, mother of one of the patients, said a little Christmas cheer always brightens up rough times at the hospital during the holidays.
“Events like this when you have a child in the hospital mean everything because days get long and hard,” Piece shared.
She adds that, “A special visit from Santa and things like cookies and coloring, it just brightens your day and brings a little spirit of the season into what can be a dreary day.”
