We’ve put together our holiday guide which includes Christmas Parades, light displays, and events with Santa!

HOLIDAY PARADES

High Point Holiday Festival Parade

What: Nothing like holiday carols and Santa to get you into the Christmas mood! The High Point Holiday Festival Parade always takes place the Sunday before Thanksgiving. It includes floats, marching bands, and displays from the community.

When: Sunday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m.

Where: The parade route will proceed up Main Street from Green Drive to Montlieu Avenue.

 

Asheboro Christmas Parade

What: Get into the Christmas spirit with the Asheboro Christmas Parade!

When: December 1 at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Downtown Asheboro

 

Greensboro Holiday Parade

What: Join the WFMY News 2 crew at the Greensboro Holiday Parade! Check out all the bands, floats, balloons, cars, Santa and more!

When: December 2 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Winston-Salem Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony 

What: Join the WFMY News 2 crew at the Winston-Salem Holiday Parade! There will be amazing floats, cool cars, marching bands, dance teams and more!

When: December 2 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Where: The parade route at 4th and Poplar Streets, traveling down 4th Street to Liberty Street and ending at Corpening Plaza, where the Downtown Tree Lighting will take place.

 

Pleasant Garden Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony

What: Join in all the holiday fun this year with WFMY News 2’s Ed Matthews who will serve as the Grand Marshal at Pleasant Garden’s 38th annual Christmas parade! The parade includes marching bands, dance teams, floats, antique cars, Santa and more! After the parade stick around as Santa lights up the Christmas tree!

When: Sunday, December 3 at 3:00 pm

Where: Corner of Pleasant Garden Road and Ryegate Drive and continues south on Pleasant Garden Road ending at Pleasant Garden Elementary.

Christmas Tree Lighting: Join Santa at his workshop located at the Pleasant Garden Fire Department it includes caroling while Santa lights up the tree. Plus stay for food, games, and entertainment.

 

Jamestown Christmas Parade

What: Jamestown kicks-off its holiday season with a parade full of Christmas magic! You’ll enjoy holiday floats, bands, vehicles, and more!

When: Sunday, December 3 at 3:00 pm

 

Stokesdale Christmas Parade

What: Head out to Stokesdale for this year’s Christmas parade.

When: December 9 at 2:00 pm

WFMY News 2 Winterfest

What: It's that time of year again for all things ice skating fun! The WFMY News 2 Winterfest ice skating rink is open November 17, 2017 - January 28, 2018. It's located at

Greensboro Festival Of Lights

What: The Festival of Lights is truly a magical time in downtown Greensboro. The night includes musical performances, community tree lighting and sing along, photo booth, holiday crafts and more! Finish your holiday shopping at the downtown merchants who will be celebrating First Friday!

When: Friday, December 1 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Visit With Santa

What: It’s never too early or too late to let Santa know what you want for Christmas. Kids can visit with Santa at Hanes Ball in the lower level of Belk Court. Santa’s new home at the mall includes a fireplace, windows, multiple Christmas trees, and more.

When: Kids can visit with Santa Monday through Saturday from 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm, and 6pm to 9pm; and Sundays from noon to 3pm and 4pm to 6pm. Santa’s visit to Hanes Mall is from November 11th to December 24th at 6pm when he begins his Christmas trek around the world.

Tanglewood Festival Of Lights
What: Pack the car and head to Tanglewood Festival of Lights. Make sure you turn your radio to 99.5 WMAG to hear holiday music set to the light displays. Plus, visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus!

When: Friday, November 17 Through Sunday, January 1, 2018

Costs: Family (cars, vans and trucks): $15, Commercial (vans, limos, and mini-buses): $35, Motorcoaches and buses: $100

Fido In The Farmpark Holiday Fun

What: Bring your pets and your friends for a magical night at Denton Farmpark for the Fido in the Farmpark event. The night includes a magical night with your pet, Santa pictures and more!

When: Saturday, November 18 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Where: 1072 Cranford Road in Denton

Admission: $15

Note: All dogs must remain on a leash and be up to date on vaccinations

 

Country Christmas Train 

What: All aboard the Country Christmas Train for a holiday good time. The 9th annual Country Christmas Train begins on Friday, November 24 and runs through December 27. The train leaves every half hour from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. taking passengers on a 1 1/2 mile loop around Denton FarmPark. You'll get to see hundreds of light displays, a live Nativity, and a short movie about the Christmas story. Rides last about 20 minutes.

Where: Denton Farm Park, Enter park at 4259 Handy Road in Denton

Other: Admission is $13 for adults on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday nights. It’s $15 on Saturday nights. Admission is $5 for children ages 5 - 11, and free for kids under the age of 4. Find out more about theme nights, discounts and more by visiting Country Christmas Train.

Live Nativity

What: Experience the Christmas story like never before with a live nativity.

When: December 22-23 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
