WINSTON-SALEM -- Winston-Salem's first sprayground will be opening up Friday at Little Creek Park.
It's similar to a splash pad - and the water will be filtered on a loop.
This is part of Winston-Salem's 2014 bond plan and Recreation and Parks Director William Royston says he's glad to finally get this up and running.
"I think it's going to be a tremendous amenity," Royston explains. "It's something that I think we've needed for a long time. It's just a different way for people to cool off during the summer."
The Sprayground will be opening before the city's pools. The first pool to open will be at Bolton Park Memorial Day Weekend. The rest of the pools will open after that.
