Should I send out Save The Dates?
The purpose of the Save the Date card is to inform family & friends of a significant event. The most popular style is a postcard with the couples engagement photo. However, the electronic version has become very popular along with magnets. Save the Dates are generally sent out at least six to twelve months before the wedding date and are usually followed by a formal wedding invitation.
What is the current trend for invitations?
Anything but the traditional style and matte finishes. The trends include: single double and triple layers; Denali pockets; Pocketfolds; Invites in silk boxes; Invites embellished with Swarovski crystals, ribbons and rhinestone buckles and Acrylic rectangles and squares.
What is a good timeline for invitations to go out?
Six to eight weeks is sufficient from the set RSVP deadline.
How far in advance should RSVP's come back and why?
Your RSVP's should come back 2-3 weeks before the wedding. Most caterers require a head count at least 2 weeks before the wedding. The sole purpose for the RSVP is to reserve your seat at the table and provide a final head count.
What is the best way for Brides to manage their RSVP's?
Use Excel to create a master spreadsheet. The Bride can use it to manage addresses for the invitations, the count from RSVP's, table assignments and she will have the addresses for her thank you notes.
What does a Brides invitation say about her wedding?
The invitation should invoke a feeling or emotion. It should convey a sense of your style and it should speak to the personality of the Bride & Groom.
