GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A group of speakers and spectators is coming together to discuss the future, and our role in it, in downtown Greensboro.
TEDx Greensboro kicked off Thursday at Triad Stage. The theme for this year's talks is "The future, regardless..."
Several speakers are discussing many aspects of the future from advocacy for adults with special needs, to becoming a young entrepreneur.
Some of the speakers include Sarah Ray, director of arcBarks; Jack Hoskins, a 16-year-old entrepreneur who's developed more than 45 apps already; and body language expert Blanca Cobb. Each speaker has prepared a unique topic about ideas to help us move into the future.
TEDx Greensboro is part of a much larger movement to promote discussions about a wide range of topics globally.
TEDx events come from the original TED Talks, which started as a four-day conference in California. The 'x' is added for independently organized TED Talks in communities, similar to the one here in Greensboro
