ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- A 14-year-old boy was accidentally shot by another teen.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said the teens were outside of a home on Needmore Road in Woodleaf playing with a shotgun.
The teen was handling the gun when it accidentally shot his friend in the stomach. The boys immediately called for help and reported the shooting. The boy was taken by helicopter to Baptist Hospital.
A woman was charged with Failure in the Storage of Firearms to Protect Minors.
