Adam Johnson recently tweeted out a rap on the concept of rounding titled 'It's Time to Round!' Johnson sent out the video on Twitter and posted it on YouTube.

'Repeat after me...four or less, let it rest. Five or more...raise the score!' the song exclaims!

Johnson teaches fourth grade in his first year at Jones Intermediate School in Mt. Airy. He's made raps about other math concepts like place value and skip counting. Johnson says some students have written their own educational raps after seeing him perform one of his raps during class.

"It's all for the kids," said Johnson, who's always lived in Mt. Airy. "Today, I dressed up like a ninja, whatever it takes to get them excited. I don't want them going home saying 'school's boring.'"

His rap video on place value has more than 63,000 views on YouTube. Johnson got the idea from learning multiplication tables through rhymes and music when he was young. He makes the videos using recording and editing apps on his iPhone.

"I'm just trying to reach all learners," Johnson said. "Our district’s motto is every child, every day. I know that’s how I learned as a kid. I listened to music. It puts motion and lyrics to a subject."
