The Harvey Weinstein scandal has been around for weeks, and one strong voice is finally speaking out.
Uma Thurman showed great restraint in mid-October when asked to discuss Hollywood's problems with sexual harassment and assault as dozens of women started accusing the movie mogul of such misconduct. Among the latest reports to surface is one in The New Yorker about secret settlements to cover up Weinstein's behavior.
The actress, who starred in Weinstein-produced movies Pulp Fiction (1994) and both volumes of Kill Bill (2003, 2004), told a reporter at a red-carpet event: "I don't have a tidy soundbite for you." She paused and then continued, "because ... I've learned that when I have spoken in anger, I usually regret the way that I have expressed myself. So I've been waiting to feel less angry. And when I'm ready, I'll say what I have to say."
Well, it seems Thurman is ready this Thanksgiving. On Instagram Thursday, the actress wrote, "I said I was angry recently, and I have a few reasons, #metoo, in case you couldn’t tell by the look on my face."
She continued, "I feel it’s important to take your time, be fair, be exact, so... Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators - I’m glad it’s going slowly - you don’t deserve a bullet) -stay tuned."
