Swarm Snaps Losing Streak, Tops Maine 109-100

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Cat Barber, Damien Wilkins and Marcus Paige all scored 20-plus points as the Greensboro Swarm triumphed over the Maine Red Claws, 109-100, on Sunday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. Barber led all players with 29 points while Wilkins and Paige added 28 and 21 points, respectively.

Greensboro (14-28) snapped its four-game losing skid while extending Maine’s (17-26) road losing streak to 11 games.

The Swarm’s 20-plus point trio did most of their damage in the second half, with 47 of their combined 78 during that time. The 29-points for Barber was a season high. Wilkins has scored 20-or-more points in nine of his 10 games with the Swarm this season. Paige finished 7-for-14 from the field, including four three pointers.

Maine was led by Guerschon Yabusele’s 23 points and seven rebounds. The Boston Celtic on assignment to the Red Claws went 8-of-11 from the field in a game-high 40 minutes. Maine’s starting five all scored in double figures, with Kadeem Allen adding 17 points. Trey Davis had 14 points off the bench.

The Swarm return to action on Friday, March 9, as the Windy City Bulls visit Greensboro. Tip from the Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. The game is the first of a home-home back-to-back as the Swarm host Grand Rapids Drive on Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m.
