Fisher-Price Recalls Infant Motion Seats, Says They're a Fire Hazard

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling Fisher-Price brand infant motion seats that has been deemed a fire hazard.

Those who bought Soothing Motions Seats should contact Fisher-Price (800-432-5437, service.mattel.com) for a full refund. The commission says the motor housing has overheated in dozens of units.

Seats with the following model numbers are being recalled:

  • CMR35
  • CMR36
  • CMR37
  • DYH22

The model number is located on the underside of the motor housing.

The safety commission says Fisher-Price has received 36 reports of the product overheating, including one report of a fire. No injuries have been reported.

The seat was sold at Target, Toys R Us, Walmart and online at Amazon.com from Nov. 2015 through Oct. 2017.
