Here is a list of the some of the Fourth Of July events taking place in or near the Triad:

Greensboro, NC -- The Fun Fourth Festival has been presented annually since 1975 as a community celebration of Independence Day for Guilford County and the Piedmont Triad.The festival is held in the Cultural District of Downtown Greensboro and at Grimsley High School.  Click here for event details

Lexington, NC -- First Pentecostal Holiness Church on HWY 64 in Lexington will be celebrating the Fourth on July 1st. The First Pentecostal Holiness Church will be celebrating, "God and Country Day." Events will begin at 7:30 pm and include special singing, a guest speaker, hot dogs, french fries, drinks and homemade icecream. After dark there will be a gigantic fireworks display. Visitors should park on the sides of HWY 64.

Winston Salem, NC -- Sweetie's sweet shop will be taking the time to say "thank you" to our men and women in uniform. Join Sweetie's on July 3rd from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm to meet members of our military, local and state government officials.  Sweetie's will be shipping red, white and blue Patriot boxes filled with goodies to be shipped abroad. Sweeties's is located at 114-C Reynolda Village.

Hillsville, NC -- Hillsville's July Fourth Celebration will begin with the Carroll Wellness Center 5K run. Registration will be at 7:00 am, race at 8:00 am. To register for the 5K run call the Carroll Wellness Center at (276)728-2500. The "Historic Hillsville Salutes America" Parade will showcase parade entries and commence the overall activities. The Parade will begin at 4:00 pm and will be followed by food, music, children's games and the Horseshoe Contest at the VFW post from 11:15 am until 6:30 pm.  The terrific Hillsville/Carroll County fireworks display will begin approximately at 9:30 pm.

Eden, NC -- Fair Funeral Home will be hosting their 14th Annual July Fourth Fun Parade beginning at 9:30 am. Everyone is welcome, kids and adults. Call Ann or Alice Fair for parade info: (336)627-8918.

Kernersville, NC -- The Calvary Chapel of the Triad welcomes the community to their 5th Annual Fourth of July Jubilee.  The Calvary Chapel of the Triad invites the community to a fun, family-oriented alternative celebration for the Fourth of July that will begin at 12:00 pm. The Calvary Chapel of the Triad is located at 365 West Bodenhamer Street.

High Point, NC -- High Point's July Fourth celebration is North State Communications presents the "Uncle Sam Jam" featuring the PlexPlosion Fireworks. The celebration will take place at Oak Hollow Festival Park on Highway 68.  Gates will open at 4:30 pm. Events include a children's carnival and food and beverages for a fee. Main Stage entertainment will begin at 5:00 pm and feature Shannon Montgomery (country), Shaggie Maggie (beach and oldies) and the Attractions Band (variety). Fireworks are scheduled for 9:45 pm. Parking is $10 a carload. No cans or bottles are allowed. No alcoholic beverages allowed or sold. No pets are allowed.

Mebane, NC -- The City of Mebane Recreation & Parks Department presents "Mebane Fourth of July Family Music Festival. There will be free admission and concessions. Music will be performed inside the Mebane Arts/Community Center on Corridor Dr off 3rd St. The event will begin at 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. There will be a free inflatable obstacle course in the Arts Center. This is a drug and alcohol free environment and no pets are allowed. Performers include The Legends of Beach. Fireworks will be displayed outside at 9:40 pm. Bring lawn chairs and blankets-no seating available. There will be a free shuttle service available at 6:30 pm at the following locations: Walker Field Parking Lot (corner of Lee and 2nd St), Old Recreation Center Parking Lot (corner of 3rd and Jackson St), and Mebane Public Library Parking Lot (Corner of 2nd and Washington St).

Greensboro, NC -- Eastern Music Festival proudly presents the opening concert of its Lincoln Financial Festival Orchestra Series, under the baton of Maestro Gerard Schwarz.  The program will begin at 8:00 pm and feature American pianist Peter Serkin along with Rimsky-Korsakov & Scriabin. The concert will take place in Dana Auditorium at Guilford College (5800 West Friendly Ave). Tickets may be purchased for $51 for reserved seating and $41 for general admission by calling the EMF Box Office at Triad Stage at (336)272-0160, or 866-579-TIXX or online at www.EasternMusicFestival.org.

Denton, NC -- There will be a fireworks display during the Southeast Old Threshers Reunion at the Denton Farm Park beginning at 9:00 pm.

STATEWIDE -- On July 4th from 12:01 am until 11:59 pm, anyone-resident and non-resident- can fish in any public water in North Carolina, including coastal waters, without the purchase of a fishing license or trout privilege license. All other fishing regulations, such as fish length, daily possession limits, bait and tackle restrictions and park-use fees apply.
