Greensboro, NC -- A woman charged in a connection to a fatal crash last February was sentenced to three consecutive active jail terms of 31-47 months, for the three felony charges of death by motor vehicle.
Amanda Sperduti was 20 years old when police said she drove after drinking and crashed her car, killing her three passengers. The passengers were Sascha Adela Hoffman, 18, of Whitsett; Scott Wayne Bedwell, 23, of Greensboro; and Taylor Leigh McCaskill, 18, of Brown Summit.
The wreck happened around 11:00 pm on February 13, 2010. Investigators said Sperduti's car was going 90 mph before hitting a tree on Fairgrove Church Road at Highway 150.
Sperduti was indicted on five misdemeanors including possession of a malt beverage, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia. She entered an Alford plea back in February which means she did not admit guilt but acknowledges their might be enough evidence to convict her
The judge handed down the sentence after hearing from family, friends and investigators. He also ordered her to get a psychological evaluation.
