Davie County, NC -- The Davie County sheriff said that a yearlong investigation into the distribution of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine ended with four people arrested.
Sheriff Andy Stokes said after complaints of drug activity, detectives began investigating a location on Hearthside Lane. Stokes said detectives were able to purchase drugs from John and Misty Dugger at their residence.
Stokes said the investigation revealed Effrain Mendoza Velez and Vicente Garcia Vazquez as lead sources of the narcotics. He said detectives conducted a buy bust involving federal and state agents that lead to the arrest of all four suspects.
They seized more than 1½ pounds of ICE Methamphetamine, with an approximate street value of over $135,000, and over 6 ounces of powder cocaine with an approximate street value of $18,000. Also seized in the investigation were five vehicles and over $25,000 cash.
All suspects were arrested on state narcotic violations and are being held at the Davie County Detention Center.
