Asheboro, NC -- Vice Unit deputies from Randolph and Moore counties busted a marijuana growing operation in Randolph County.
Tuesday, deputies search a home at 503 Oak View Lane in Asheboro after receiving information about the operation. During the search, detectives found 221 marijuana plants and growing equipment including lamps, transformers, fans, timers, and fertilizer.
Investigators also located drug paraphernalia, amphetamine pills, and cash. They said the marijuana seized weighed approximately 15 pounds.
Reitzel Alan Briles, 29 was charged with marijuana trafficking, maintaining a dwelling place for controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $7,500 secured bond.
Tracy Lee Smith, 34, was charged with felony possession schedule II. She is held on a $500 bond.
