Greensboro, Winston-Salem Christmas Parades Ramp Up Holiday Season

The Christmas and holiday season gets into full swing this weekend with a number of parades and other events in the Triad.

Friday, December 2

Greensboro - 6pm - 23rd Annual Festival Of Lights.

The event runs from 6-9pm and features a musical stroll, children's crafts, moon bounce, scavenger hunt, and over 20 performing groups.

The 38-foot Community Tree will be lit around 7pm in Center City Park.  VIEW A FULL SCHEDULE FOR THE EVENING

Mebane - 7pm - Christmas Parade

Asheboro - 7pm - Parade begins at corner of Church and Sunset, ends at Kivett.

Saturday, December 3

Greensboro - 10am-3pm -  Candle Tea at First Moravian Church. Eenjoy wonderful music, decorations, moravian cookies, candles, sugar cake, coffee, chicken pies and more!

Eden - 11am -  Draper Children's Christmas Parade - Route: Meadow Road to Main Street, left on Fieldcrest Road, south through Draper Village and ending at Stadium Drive, Eden

Greensboro - 12pm-2pm - the Greensboro Jaycees Holiday Parade will take place in downtown Greensboro.  You can watch the parade along its route on Greene Street, Market Street or Church Street.

Watch for the WFMY News 2 crew pulling the Cat In The Hat balloon down the parade route.

Wilkes County - 1pm - The Wilkes Co Christmas Parade begins on Main Street in North Wilkesboro and ends in front of Tyson in Wilkesboro 

Liberty - 2:30pm -  Parade begins on Greensboro Street

Winston-Salem - 5pm - Parade begins at Poplar Street and end at Corpening Plaza

Rockingham County - 6-8pm - Candlefest - The Girl Scouts of Rockingham county invite you to share the spirit of the season with us at Chinqua-Penn Plantation.  Enjoy carols and luminaries on the grounds. Bring a non-perishable food donation for a $10 adult admission.

Kernersville - 7pm - Tree lighting in Harmon Park

Sunday, December 4

Kernersville - 2:30pm - Parade begins at Pineview Drive and highway 66, and continues on Mountain Street to Kernersville Elementary School.

Jamestown - 3pm - Parade begins on Main Street in downtown Jamestown

Pleasant Garden - 3pm - Parade begins on Nesbitt Street travels south to Sheraton Park Road

Archdale - 3:00pm - Parade begins on Main Street

Monday, December 5

Lexington - 6pm - Parade travels on Main Street in Uptown Lexington
