Winston-Salem, NC-- A man and woman are facing numerous drug charges after police said they found an elaborate "marijuana grow" operation in their home.
The Winston Salem Police Department's Street Crimes Unit made the arrests after being dispatched to a house on Cherokee Lane Tuesday night. Around 8:00pm, Officers went to the house to investigate a possible violation of the NC Controlled Substance Act. They met with Sherry Miller and John Brimmer, who agreed to a search of the house.
Investigators said the search led them to an elaborate Marijuana Grow operation on both the main floor and the basement of the house. Officers found loose marijuana, and hashish. They said the operation consisted of artificial lighting, a dedicated ventilation system, a hydration system, and independent climate control systems.
The following items were found and seized from the residence:
-- 33-Marijuana plants valued at $82,500.00
-- 862 grams of Marijuana valued at $6,163.30
-- $700.00 in U. S. Currency
-- 12 grams of Hashish valued at $240.00
-- Growing/Cultivation equipment valued at $12,000.00
The amount of total seizure exceeds $101,000.00, according to police.
Miller and Brimmer were charged with number drug charges including Possession with Intent To Sale, Distribute 1000 feet of a Daycare.
Their bond information was not released.
