Winston-Salem, NC-- Police in Winston-Salem continue to investigate crimes against women in one area of a Triad city, but the suspect remains elusive.
The person has committed the same type of crime for more than a year, but neither police nor victims know exactly who the suspect is. That's because he attacks women from behind and they've only been able to get a brief look at him.
All the crimes have been reported from women in the Ardmore area of the city, according to police records. The latest one was in the 600 block of Irving Street on Tuesday night.
A woman told officers she was sitting on her front porch with the porch light on when a white male with blonde hair reached around from behind and grabbed her breasts. The victim said she was talking on the telephone when it happened and the man ran away on foot.
Responding officers circulated the area and a K-9 track was conducted with negative results.
Police said, to date, this is the 11th time that this type of crime has happened. They have assigned the Sexual Battery cases to their Adult Sex Crimes Unit.
Here's where the crimes have happened: Areas ranging from Hawthorne Road/Irving St., Miller Street, Ardsley Street, Westover Drive, Melrose Street, and Watson Avenue.
The last incident occurred on January 7, 2012 on Westover Drive at Melrose Street.
Police say each time the suspect approached the victims from behind and grabbed their breasts, buttocks or genital areas and either ran in the opposite direction or past the victim.
