Greensboro, NC -- Coca-Cola and Harris Teeter have teamed up to increase recycling awareness and education efforts in the Triad.
"Recycle & Win" is a green initiative designed to reward residents caught recycling properly in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point. Families will receive a brochure in the mail that has an "opt-in" sticker. If you want to participate, put the sticker on your recycling cart and put it on the curb.
The Prize Patrol will randomly visit neighborhoods throughout the three participating cities looking for recycling carts with the stickers on it. If the cart has the proper recyclables, then you could get a prize voucher in the mail.
"Recycling is the way of the future," said Greensboro Mayor Robbie Perkins. "The more we recycle, the less we have to put in landfills, the cleaner stream of recycling our residents provide, the less contaminents are in the recycling and the less has to go into the landfills, so it really makes sense to educate our citizens."
