Missouri-- New details have been released regarding Matt Hansen, a Missouri Middle School teacher in custody for possession of child pornography.
Matt Hansen, 38, was a seventh grade math teacher at the school and had been employed with the school district since 2004.
Hansen was placed on administrative leave earlier this month when the district learned he had been charged with Felony Possession of Child Pornography after he climbed a cell phone tower in a small Iowa town and threatened to kill himself.
Officers talked Hansen down and he was committed to a mental health facility before he was transferred to the Lincoln County Jail.
On Monday, Bernard DuBray, Superintendent of the Fort Zumwalt School District, posted a letter on the district's website with more information regarding Hansen and the charges.
DuBray says in addition to teaching seventh grade math, Hansen also assisted with the Fifth Grade Outdoor Education Program.
He says after Hansen was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
The Cyber Crimes Unit said Hansen secretly videotaped male students of the Outdoor Education Program undressing before getting in the showers. The students are from Progress South, Lewis and Clark, and Dardenne elementary schools.
The students did not know they were being filmed, and the tapes are in police custody.
DuBray says he has not watched the tapes, and there is no evidence Hansen did anything other than record the students.
The district is still investigating to determine which students were videotaped, and when that is known their parents will be contacted.
