PHILADELPHIA -- Seven-month old, heart warrior Charlie Hudson had all her chest lines taken out Tuesday after her third open-heart surgery.

The Hudson family told WFMY News 2 that Charlie was out of surgery around 4 p.m. on Monday. Her surgery started around 12:30 p.m. The family said doctors removed Charlie's breathing tube. If Charlie eats well the next few days, she will be released, according to the family.

Charlie's family posted this update on Twitter around 7 p.m.:

"We have seen Charlie and she is so beautiful. Never imagined after such a difficult surgery that they would have her off the breathing tube, only one drainage tube (last time was 4), and a couple IVs. They are just keeping an eye on her now and trying to control her pain. They can't give her too much or she will stop breathing for herself but too little and she would be breathing too heavy due to pain. But I still can't believe how gorgeous she is after everything. Can't wait to see that toothless smile again [heart] And again, we can't thank everyone enough for keeping Charlie in your prayers. One day she will read these comments and know how many people cared about her :)"

The Thomasville infant has a congenital heart defect, a condition that doesn't allow blood flow into her heart. Just hours after Charlie was born in March, she had her first open heart surgery.

Charlie will have to have another surgery "later in life," the Hudson family wrote on their Prayers for Charlie Girl Facebook page. The family says their "prayers have been answered."
