Greensboro, NC -- After a cool and damp day with scattered showers around during the afternoon there will become a concern for patchy black ice as temperatures drop Thursday night.
Temperatures had already dropped into the 30s by 9pm Thursday night. Wet roads and sidewalks from the recent rain will could begin to freeze in some locations on elevated surfaces, bridges and overpasses as temperatures drop into the low 30s.
Fog will also begin to develop Thursday night into Friday morning, combining with patchy black ice to create areas of tricky travel. Anybody driving around the Triad before sunrise Friday should use a little extra caution.
Any black ice and/or fog that develops will melt and clear out soon after sunrise.
