Davidson County, NC -- All lanes on I-85N are open at the US-64 exit, near Thomasville in Davidson County after a truck carrying hazardous materials overturned after 6 am.
Hazmat workers were on the scene when officials learned that the truck was carrying ammonium nitrate and blasting caps. They said that because the two were separated in the truck that there was no risk of explosion.
According to NC State Highway Patrol, witnesses said the trucks front left tire blew out and caused the wreck. Troopers didn't have an estimate on the truck's speed and they aren't planning on filing charges at this time.
Sgt. Stephen Pace with NCSHP said this was a single vehicle crash and the truck driver was the only one taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
