Knoxville, TN -- The U.S. Geological Survey said a 3.0 magnitude earthquake, centered in Sevier County, hit around 6 a.m. Saturday.
The light quake could be felt in parts of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina.
The USGS's website says people as far south as Vonore, TN, as far north as Morristown, TN, as far west as Alcoa, TN, and as far east as Black Mountain, NC, reported feeling the quake.
This is the second earthquake to hit the area this month.
A 4.3 magnitude quake, centered in eastern Kentucky, was felt in at least nine states Nov. 10.
