Greensboro, NC -- The city of Greensboro opened one of its trout ponds to public fishing Saturday.
Anglers got to cast their lines at the Taylor-Turner Hatchery Pond at Lake Higgins. The city says you need to be 16 years or older to fish and have a valid N.C. fishing license.
The fee is one dollar, and then you pay $4 a pound for the fish you catch. The city says this is not a catch and release opportunity, so if you catch it you must keep it and it must be weighed.
Public fishing will be available through March, weather permitting. If you want more information call (336) 373-3739 or you can go to the Greensboro Parks and Recreation site at www.greensboro-nc.gov/lakes.
