Greensboro, NC -- The Piedmont is under an increased fire danger warning due to dry conditions and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning covers Forsyth, Guilford, Davidson and Randolph counties.

The weather service says a very dry air mass has settled across North Carolina with dew points in the upper teems and low 20s. As temperatures approach 50 degrees, the relative humidity will fall to less than 25 percent.

With the lack of rain, the combination of low relative humidity and wind gusts near 20 mph will increase the danger of fires in the region.

These dry conditions have already caused problems in our area.

Viewer Emily Hoxworth submitted this photo of a truck fire on Coleridge Road in Greensboro. The owner parked the truck on a pile of dry leaves and it caught fire Sunday morning.

The fire department said no one was injured in the fire, and it didn't take long to extinguish.
