Denton, NC -- Crews continue to monitor a fire that started on Bald Mountain on Sunday.
The fire is on the backside of High Rock Dam and the Tuckertown Reservoir. It started Sunday night shortly after 6 o'clock, according to Forest Ranger, Patrick Raynor.
On Monday, Raynor said the fire had burned about 115 acres and was still being monitor for hot spots and flare ups. He said they will probably monitor it for a couple of days.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Raynor said the get the fire under control eight fire departments and nine forestry members were used as well as a patrol plane that help access the situation.
