Greensboro Officers Ready To Spread Christmas Cheer To Area Children

Greensboro, NC -- The holidays are quickly approaching, and the Greensboro Police Department is doing its part to make sure they're enjoyable for some local families.

The Greensboro Police Department held its annual Operation Yuletide which will provide a full holiday meal and gifts to 100 families this holiday season.

Operation: Yuletide consisted of a Fill the Cruiser' campaign. Police spent Saturdays collecting food, clothing, toys and household items for the families.

Tuesday, WFMY News 2 caught up with officers who were sorting and wrapping gifts.

'Fill the Cruiser' relies completely on donations from the public. Collections started Nov. 2 and will continue until Nov. 28.  

Anyone who wants to contribute can do so by: Monetary donations can be mailed to Christ Wesleyan Church, 2400 S. Holden Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Indicate that it's for Operation Yuletide at the bottom of the check. The church will provide receipts for tax-deductible cash donations.
