Greensboro City Council Select's Trudy Wade's Replacement

Greensboro, NC -- Greensboro City Council members voted on Councilmember Trudy Wade's replacement.

Wade was elected to North Carolina senate in November. Her district five seat is now available.

Six people applied for her position. At the end of the council meeting, council voted five to four that Tony Wilkins will replace Wade. After the vote passed, council member Wade joked, "If Mr. Wilkins doesn't do his job, I'll be back."

Wilkins' position on council will be effective January 9, 2013.
