Laquan Dennis Arrested For Crimes Against Nature At West Montgomery Sleep-Over

Montgomery County, NC - A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with multiple sex offenses after an incident at a sleep-over at a school.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrested Laquan Santionie Dennis, 21, for Statutory Rape or Sexual Offense of Person who is 13,14 or 15-years-old and Crime Against Nature.

Because the victim is a minor, deputies have not released a name.

Accordng to the sheriff's office, there was an overnight function at West Montgomery last Friday and the offense happened early Saturday morning. The victim's mother filed the complaint on Monday.

Lindsay Whitley, public information officer for Montgomery County Schools, says the event was an overnight celebration for the school's dance team. There were 12 students at the event in the West Montgomery auditorium.

Whitley told News 2 the school did approve the event, but only members of the dance team were invited. He also said there was a total of three chaperones at the event throughout the night, but only two were in the auditorium at the time of the incident.

There is still no word on how the suspect got time alone with the student or why he was at the event.

Laquan is an alumnus of West Montgomery.
