Greensboro, NC -- Let's not forget one of the most important holiday traditions, giving to those who are less fortunate than yourself.
The Triad Christmas Store needs your help to make Christmas special for 1,200 children in need. People in need can come in and spend one dollar to get all the gifts their family needs.
West Market Street United Methodist Church hosts the sale, but the project comes together thanks to the teamwork of 29 churches.
And organizers say its unique, because they're not just giving items to families in need. Store director Elizabeth Montgomery, said, "It gives them the dignity of choice and selection and the opportunity to provide for their own families."
This year, shoppers will also each get a free color portrait. But the store stills need more clothes, like coats and sweaters, books, and toys.
The sale starts Friday, December 14th at 3:00 pm. So if you'd like to help by donating items, drop off the items at the church by 5:00 pm Thursday, December 13th. The address is 302 West Market Street in Greensboro.
Participating families qualify for emergency assistance and are determined through a screening process administered by social workers.
