Triad --  By the middle of December, one would think more normal weather would be in place.  That's still not the case for December 2012.  After a mild weekend with highs in the 50s both days, the warming trend continues into the week before Christmas.

A warm front has pushed to our north.  That is why the mild and wet air has been in place.  There is a cold front moving through the midwest.  That will dry us out but not until it moves through on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.  In the meantime, highs will be in the upper 50s on  Monday.  It will be another gray day with showers possible any time.  The best chance will be in the afternoon, when there could potentially be a few thunderstorms.

The cold front will pull through late Monday night and usher in a drier air mass.  It just won't be a cooler one.  The sun will return on Tuesday but highs will be even warmer behind the front.  That's because it originated in the mild Pacific, not Canada.  Even though it will be mild, it will be breezy behind the front.

Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will be in the low 60s.  Then another cold front comes in, brings a shower and thunderstorm chance and drops temperatures for Friday.  Highs on Friday and into next weekend will only top out in the 40s.
