Greensboro, NC -- A little rain couldn't stop some Triad neighbors from hitting the pavement Sunday.
And it's not your typical race. For one thing, the "Running of the Balls" 5K run is at night.
The course goes through the Sunset Hills neighborhood, where runners can check out the unique Christmas displays.
"Sometimes it very little about Christmas. It's not about commercials, getting stuff, and buying stuff or wanting stuff. And it seems like this little neighborhood is diffrent than that. You can come out here for a night. You've got 60-year-old guys that are kids again because everybody gets a kick out of these Christmas balls," said Organizer Nick Loflin.
About 1,700 people registered online for the race. Organizers hope to raise $20,000 for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
