Thomasville, NC-- A teenager is facing charges involving a gun that he had inside his pickup truck.
Tuesday, Thomasville Police said they received a call about careless and reckless driving involving a pickup truck and camaro. Responding Officers found the drivers of both vehicles at New Hope Christian Academy on Briggs Avenue in Thomasville.
While talking with one of the drivers, officers discovered a 22-caliber handgun that was concealed in the console of the pickup truck.
The gun was confiscated by police.
Zachary Stephen Leonard, 16, of Winston-Salem was charged with a Possession of a Firearm by a Minor and Possession of a Firearm on Educational Property.
Leonard was taken to the Davidson County Jail and was released after posting his $2500 bond.
