Greensboro--As we move the final days of 2012, the weather will be nice and quite. That will change with the start of the New Year. Rain is expected by Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening.
The storm track over the United States keeps wet weather systems moving our way. The next one will arrive on New Year's Day. It could bring 0.10" to 0.20" of a chilly rain to the Piedmont.
If you are headed out to party and ring in the New Year, our weather will likely remain dry through Tuesday morning. there iwll be a better chance of rain by Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will run near or slightly below normal for much of the new week. Highs will be in the mid 40's, cooling to near 40 by Thursday. Overnight lows will be around freezing.
