Clemmons, NC -- #PrayForRyan is trending on Twitter. Ryan Wood is a 10th grader at West Forsyth HS fighting cancer.

On Thursday night, a group of students from W. Forsyth High School started a hashtag, #PrayForRyan for their friend, Ryan Wood.

News 2 has learned that Ryan Wood has burkitts lymphoma, a very rare form of cancer. He was first diagnosed in April and beat the cancer. But it came back again on November 1st.

Randy Wood, Ryan's father told News 2's Liz Crawford that the family received bad news on Thursday night. A CAT scan showed that the tumor has spread to his liver and lungs. Doctors believe Ryan has three to four weeks to live.

Randy said that Ryan is home now, with his parents and 11-year-old sister, Maggie.

Brooke Burns is a friend of Ryan. She is one of the students who started the Twitter crusade. Burns told News 2's Liz Crawford that the entire school and community rallied behind Ryan when the cancer returned in November.

Since then, it's a top trend locally and the hashtag has been retweeted and tweeted all across the country.
