Greensboro, NC -- Some residents at the Northbrook Apartments were forced out of their homes after a fire late Wednesday night.

Fire Chief Hunter told WFMY News 2 the call came in just before 11:30 p.m. More than 15 crews responded to the apartment complex, which is located on Cottage Place. Crews were able to control the fire and no one was injured.

Chief Hunter said there was one female occupant who was taken to the hospital, but it was for chest pains unrelated to the fire.

Occupants in eight apartment units had to be evacuated. Chief Hunter said about four of those units were damaged and they had to turn off the power in the other units.

Both the apartment complex and the Red Cross are working together to relocate the displaced occupants.

Firefighters are investigating what caused the fire.
