Greensboro, NC-- Thursday, Police confirmed that Sandra Palmer had purchased a gun as recent as last Saturday. However, police would not confirm if it was the gun she used to shoot her son, daughter, boyfriend and herself on Monday.
Tuesday night, Greensboro police gave details into what may have lead to a shooting the home on Mourning Dove Terrace in Robyn's Glen Townhomes subdivision.
After responding to several 911 calls about shots fired, police found a woman and teenager dead inside the house. They also found an 18-year-old girl who was shot, but still alive, along with a man outside of the townhome who had been shot.
The girl, Danielle Imani Jameison, is listed in serious condition at Cone. Maurice Edmonds is also in serious condition.
The two found dead were 14-year-old Maurice Edmonds II and Sandra Palmer, 47, his mother.
Chief Ken Miller said investigators were able to put together some of what happened after conducting interviews with Edmonds and Jameison at the hospital. They know that Sandra Lyn Palmer was the one who did the shooting after some type of dispute. However, police said the nature of the argument is unclear.
Miller said Palmer maced Maurice Edmonds, her boyfriend, so he couldn't fight back while she shot her kids. Edmonds was also shot as he struggled for control of the gun. Miller said Edmonds then ran from the house to get help and collapsed.
After shooting the kids and Edmonds, Palmer went into a different room in the house and shot herself with another gun. Miller said at some point during the shootings, the gun Palmer was using jammed.
Police have found registration for only one of the guns.
